Self hosting
Cloud vs Self Hosting
Compare CourseLit Cloud and self-hosting before choosing your setup.
CourseLit gives you two ways to run the platform:
- use the hosted version at CourseLit.app
- self-host the open-source stack on your own infrastructure
Choose CourseLit Cloud if
- you want the fastest path to launch
- you do not want to maintain servers, updates, backups, and uptime
- you want the CourseLit team to manage the infrastructure for you
- you prefer a predictable subscription over operating your own stack
Choose self-hosting if
- you want complete control over your data and infrastructure
- you need to run CourseLit behind a firewall or inside a private environment
- you want to customize deployment and operations around your own stack
- you are comfortable managing hosting, updates, and maintenance
