Cloud vs Self Hosting

Compare CourseLit Cloud and self-hosting before choosing your setup.

CourseLit gives you two ways to run the platform:

  • use the hosted version at CourseLit.app
  • self-host the open-source stack on your own infrastructure

Choose CourseLit Cloud if

  • you want the fastest path to launch
  • you do not want to maintain servers, updates, backups, and uptime
  • you want the CourseLit team to manage the infrastructure for you
  • you prefer a predictable subscription over operating your own stack

Choose self-hosting if

  • you want complete control over your data and infrastructure
  • you need to run CourseLit behind a firewall or inside a private environment
  • you want to customize deployment and operations around your own stack
  • you are comfortable managing hosting, updates, and maintenance
